  • A Bit About Jeri Kay

Developing personal strength and worth is the core of what I desire for my clients. This happens through learning self-acceptance and no longer feeling shame in regards to our life story. How does this happen in a typical session? First, we develop a safe and trusting relationship between client and therapist. Then, we work together to process the client’s story through narrative, Somatic Experiencing, restorative art work, and other modalities appropriate for the client. I desire my clients to walk away from our session experiencing a deeper sense of meaning and having new tools to continue to heal.

I have two Masters degrees, Professional Counseling and Marriage and Family Therapy. I am Trauma Certified through the Colin A. Ross Institute for Trauma. I am a practitioner at the Intermediate level with Somatic Experiencing. Specialties include Physical/Sexual/Emotional Abuse and Neglect, as well as Dissociative Disorders.

I recently completed training to obtain the designation as LPC-Supervisor. I am excited about the opportunity to teach and guide new therapists and therapists-in-training in developing excellent therapists.

Most therapy consists of “talking” and “feeling”. My therapy is different because I also incorporate the body into my work with clients. Everything that happens to an individual happens to the body. Therefore, paying attention to the body allows us to more fully process and heal the wounds within.
